Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in South America: Q4 2024

In the final quarter of 2024, the carpooling and ridesharing sector in South America saw significant activity on the Android platform. According to Sensor Tower data, several apps stood out in terms of weekly downloads and active users.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 362K in early October and peaking at around 452K in mid-December. The app maintained a strong presence with active users, reaching over 30M in early December before a dip to about 25M by the end of the month.

inDrive. Rides with fair fares showed consistent download numbers, starting at 250K and peaking at 270K in late December. Its active user base also demonstrated growth, peaking at over 11M in early December before a decline towards the year's end.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides began the quarter with 229K downloads, with numbers fluctuating slightly before settling at 149K in late December. Active users for DiDi Rider increased to nearly 10M in early December, although there was a decrease to around 8M by the end of the quarter.

Yango: taxi, food, delivery maintained steady download figures, beginning at 142K and reaching 162K by mid-December. Its active user count saw a rise from 1.6M to 1.9M during the quarter, despite a slight drop towards the end of December.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a consistent download trend, with numbers starting at 130K and peaking at 162K in early December. The app's active users increased from 4.8M to over 5M by the end of the quarter.
